Hidden Home Camera
A Hidden Home Camera Allows Parents to Ensure Their Children’s Security
If you’re a working parent, you know how hard it is to leave your child in the care of a nanny or a maid. You would like to take care of them yourself but you’re forced to leave them in the care of a relative stranger. So, naturally, you would like to know what they’re up to when you’re not around. It’s not that you don’t trust them, but you would like some reassurance that they’re taking good care of your children. So you install a wireless hidden home camera system to watch them. The cameras send their video signal to a monitoring station where you can watch it on your computer or TV. These so-called nanny-cams can take the form of any common household object, so the nanny will never know you’re watching her.
For example, you can install a hidden home camera in your home disguised as a wall clock. The working clock has a hidden camera available in black and white (which has a 420-line resolution and can take footage at .01 lux) or color (380-line resolution and 0.5 lux), with a transmission range of up to 1,000 ft (which can be upgraded to a commercial transmitter for an increased range of 3,000 ft for an additional charge of $300). The Wall Clock Camera goes for $359 for the black and white camera and $459 for a color model and has a two-year warranty.
If you want to ensure that your child is monitored no matter what room of the house he or she is in, you can get a hidden home camera in a teddy bear. ESPY Security offers these cameras in black and white or color models. The cameras have a 3.7mm pinhole lens which is located in the bear’s nose, and a built-in 2.4 GHz transmitter; they are viewable from between 65 to 85 degrees. Color cameras go for $329.95 while black and white models are $269.95. The system includes the camera, receiver and power adapter, and has a one-year warranty.
It should be noted, however, that wireless cameras can leave your home vulnerable, as the signal may be intercepted by digital eavesdroppers. But you can avoid this problem by getting a hidden home camera that has a built-in DVR; you can review the video later by connecting the recorder to your computer or TV.
The Stealth Cam from Spy Associates is a hidden home camera with a built-in digital video recorder that comes in the form of a working cube alarm clock. The DVR records when it is motion-activated, while the camera is a Sony Ex-View High Resolution Night Vision model that provides a clear image even in complete darkness. The removable SD card has 16GB of memory which provides days of recording time. You can view the video by connecting the camera to a TV using an RCA cable or removing the SD card and playing it on your PC using Windows Media Player. It is available for $599.
There are many hidden home camera options available. With a little snooping you can find one for your budget.
